Originally having planned both Touring and Production versions of the 147, the JSM team opted to run just the Touring class car in the 2001 season BTCC. It is the first development of the Alfa Romeo 147 for the BTCC, and the true potential of the car, which is considerably different to others in the class, is yet to be realised.
