| Triple Eight Race Engineering is once again responsible for the preparation of Vauxhall's BTCC cars. The team, formed in 1996, and involved with Vauxhall throughout that time, has extensive race preparation experience. The company is based at Banbury, near to the Silverstone Circuit, and has considerable on-site facilities.
The works Vauxhall team has undergone a complete makeover for 2003, with a new livery and a 3 car team. 2003 marks the centenary year for Vauxhall, with special commemorative '100' edition road cars in various models. The team will be hoping to celebrate by making it three championships in a row, with James Thompson starting the season with the number '1' on the side of his car.
