Fabrizio Giovanardi has closed the gap to championship leader Jason Plato to just four points after a double victory at Brands Hatch. It could have been a triple for the Italian, who was running second in the final race of the day before dropping down to fourth. Plato finished one position behind Giovanardi in each of the day's races, seeing his championship lead slashed by ten points. With six races to go, the title fight looks set to go to the wire.
