BTCC champion Yvan Muller took his eighth title in the Trophee Andros ice racing series this weekend, defeating former F1 world champion Alain Porst in the process. Racing at Clermont-Ferrand, the Frenchman took victory in the races on both Saturday and Sunday, to claim the title in his first season with the Kia Team.

After taking a year-out last year, Muller has had no trouble regaining his footing on the ice circuits for the 2003/2004 season, taking victory in seven of the 12 races that made up the Trophee Andros championship.

A contented Muller commented, “It has been one of the best Andros series that I’ve competed in.” Muller and his fellow Andros contenders will head to the Stade de France in Paris next weekend for a 'Super-Finale' to the series.

The title caps a successful year of racing for Muller, who will be hoping for more wins in 2004 as he defends his BTCC crown with VX Racing, starting at with rounds 1-3 at Thruxton over Easter weekend in April.
